Ireland Diary - Part Three

The moment you cheat for the sake of beauty, you know you’re an artist. (David Hockney)

Our B&B was set high in the Donegal Mountains. from this height there was a panoramic vista. No matter which direction you looked there was fodder for painting. I was looking down upon what, in my romantic imagination, was a peat bog. Our host set me right. It was actually reclaimed land from a flood plain that emptied into the Bay of Donegal. The crop... flax. It was nonetheless beautiful. My first attempt to capture the seemingly unending range of greens!
