“The artist’s role is to invent rhythms and forms to reveal a deeper apprehension of reality for the viewer.” (Leland Bell)
I have spent an enjoyable career of more than 40 years in graphic design. As a visual person by experience (and seemingly by choice), I now find myself progressing towards nature-based abstract painting to express more of what I feel. I have always strived to express the rhythms and form that I see, wherever I am. This is another plein air watercolour created on farmland that has been expropriated for a future airport. It pains me to see these farms allowed to fall into ruin, denying their use as homes and providers of much needed local food.
