An Insight Into My Thoughts

The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum is hosting an exhibition of a number of artists from our local Studio Tour. It is wonderful exposure and very much appreciated. I submitted a local scene shown here with the following statement to give the visitors an insight into my thoughts about painting this scene “en plein air”.

“It was early morning when I sat with my brushes and paint before this old, forlorn Victorian farmhouse on the edge of a new housing complex. The sun had been shining but the sky to the west was threatening. As I rushed to finish my painting before the storm, I thought of this fence-bound relic, full of memories but trapped by encroaching development. I am happy to report that the house has been restored, a new section added, given a new lease on life. It now stands proudly on the Town Line at the eastern boundary of the Town of Stouffville.

Incarcerated (10-5/8" x 14")
